Antony Owen is from Coventry and the son of working class parents which is one of his major influences in writing as well as conflict. His work has received UK and International acclaim with translations in Japanese, Mandarin, Dutch, German and Arabic. He has been shortlisted for Ted Hughes Award for New Work in Poetry, won a British Army poetry competition and a working class poetry award in 2020. His next collection Phoenix (Thelem Press) is to be launched in Coventry’s twin city of Dresden and explores consequences of conflict and the indomitable strength of everyday people caught up in war and so often overlooked.
