Accredited with Focus Awards and delivered in association with Dynica Beauty Academy, the course is assessed through a portfolio, through 5 observed treatments, and also with up to 100 case studies. You will learn the following:

• Provide Reflexology for Complementary Therapies
• Anatomy and Physiology for Reflexology
• Monitor and Maintain Health and Safety Practice in the Salon
  Client Care and Communication in Beauty-Related Industries
  Core Principles and Practices for Holistic Therapies

How is the course taught?

The theory is taught both at the Amethyst Centre during the practical sessions, and also through a set of assignments to be completed before the end of the course. These will form the main basis of your portfolio.

You will attend the Amethyst Centre for 12 days and learn the practical skills.

Then you will complete at least 12 and at most 100 case study treatments. (We prefer you to do 60, and the 100 is dependent on whether you want to join the Association of Reflexologists) You can do these at the Amethyst Centre under the direct supervision of the teacher, or you can complete them at your home premises or within a placement.

You have up to one year from date of enrolment with Focus Awards to complete the course.

How do I pay for the course?

A £300 deposit will secure your place on the course, and then you are expected to pay either in monthly instalments of £100 per month, or in 3 monthly instalments of £433.

Are there any further items of expenditure required?

Yes. You are required to purchase a therapists tunic in purple to wear while you are at the Amethyst Centre or performing the case study treatments. Further details will be available at enrolment.

If you wish to provide the case study treatments outside the Centre you will need to have oils, lotions, waxes and powders available. More details will be provided at enrolment.

What will I get at the end of the course?

You will get a VRQ Level 3 Diploma in Reflexology from Focus Awards, who are a regulated awarding body. If you complete the 100 case studies, you will be entitled to apply for membership of the Association of Reflexologists.

You will also get the information needed to set up your own practice as a reflexologist, or to work as a reflexologist in an employed setting such as a spa.
