What else is possible?

It’s that time of year again… And it got me thinking about what got me into being a therapist. It was no less a string of coincidences than what led me to open the Amethyst Centre (which I’ve blogged about before, here: https://www.amethystcentre.com/the-story-so-far/ )

At the time I was a lecturer for Leicester University, teaching management of voluntary and community organisations, and I worked at Leicester and also at Northampton College. This one day in June, I’d finished my stint at Northampton, and was walking down the stairs. At the bottom of the stairs was a table which had next year’s prospectuses on. I thought “I’d better see what I’m teaching next year” and picked one up. It fell open to one particular page: the page promoting the Complementary Therapies course.

I thought “ooh this looks interesting” so I put the book in my bag and took it home. I read it all and got on the website, and thought I could easily fit it around my commitments to Leicester University, so I applied. I got an interview and passed that.

Around the same time I was approached to help someone set up their own therapy centre in Warwick, which I did. I also did my Reiki Master training. My first week in this new centre was the first week of September 2007, and I could do Reiki healing and chakra balancing as well as some case studies at Utopia.

So it all kinda fell in to place very easily. This is usually a sign that you are where the Universe wants you to be!

What can we learn from this? I think it’s to be open to new opportunities which arise for you and not to overthink them. Also that once you take one step towards fulfilling your destiny, the Universe runs towards you with open arms to help you do this.

I’m now so thrilled to be offering the same course as I studied all those years ago for people to follow in my footsteps. I’m also really amazed that I have a team of trainers and quality assessors around me who share my vision of bringing this knowledge to the next generation of therapists.

If you are looking for a way to become a therapist, then our Reflexology, Aromatherapy and Complementary Therapy diplomas are ideal for you. They are equivalent to 3 A levels so they are a big commitment, but it is so very well worth it to do the training to this level of depth. And of course, you never know where it might lead!

All our courses are now recruiting. There are Reiki, Violet Flame and Crystal Healing courses this month too, and they are all bookable through our shop here: https://www.amethystcentre.com/product-category/workshops-and-courses/
