Welcome Zac Podilchuk to the Centre!

We are grateful to have Zac Podilchuk at the Centre on a placement. Here’s what he tells us about himself:

I was not born into a religious or spiritual family, but I used to see spirit and enter meditative states from an early age. As soon as I could, I started to explore this other world through books and leaflets my older brother used to sneak in and hide from our parents!

When I left school I worked in the electronic music field as a DJ and promoter, until I burned out and turned my back on that lifestyle and lived in various ashrams and visited Buddhist and Hindu temples. I learned many meditation techniques and took many initiations, and became ordained as a lay Theravada Buddhist: I was given the sacred Gayatri Mantra initiation in India by Swami Govinda, which qualified me as a Brahmin and I can perform initiations, weddings, funerals, and other sacred rites of passage. I also served as a PA to the late Swami Krishnapada (spiritual advisor to Nelson Mandela) for a couple of years.

I also trained in “internal martial arts” such as Taijiquan, Qigong, Hsing I Quan with noteworthy western teachers such as Alex Kozma, Serge Augier and Steve Benitez, and I have trained in Usui Reiki to master level. I developed a simple energy work system called “Dao Qi Gong” in 2001 with master Richard Moss in Cheltenham. The movement aspect of my teaching is based on that.

My main focus as a teacher/ facilitator is to promote awareness of the body and its energy (Qigong) and promote awareness of consciousness via mantra , breathing and analytical meditation. I offer basic, intermediate and advanced instruction, culminating in initiation and teacher training.

My system is simple yet profound, based on a precise and time tested system of self knowledge/self realisation. It is universal in approach and available for people from all walks of life.

Sessions will consist of:

Moving meditation and energy work

Mantra Meditation

Silent Meditation

Philosophical enquiry and discussion

My system – INTEGRATED SPIRITUAL TECHNOLOGY – can open the doorway to an inner freedom of mind/ body/ soul with techniques that are easily taken home to be integrated into daily life. I believe that spirituality is not just about what you do – it’s equally important to develop a spiritual attitude. It is a way of being that is easily accomplished by the simple realisation that we are far more than our minds and bodies. Our attachment to preconceived notions of what we “are”, withholds our progress towards truly living.
